The Armour Street Theatre, the first, permanent home of the Davidson Community Players opened its doors in the fall of 2008. In addition to its new home, this talented theatre company also performs annually in the Duke Family Performance Hall, a state-of-the-art theatre on the campus of Davidson College. Established 45 years ago, the Davidson Community Players has earned a reputation for excellence. Ranking among the finest non-professional theatre companies in the Southeast, this beloved organization attracts theatre-lovers from throughout the Charlotte metropolitan area and draws an audience of more than 12,000 people in and around Lake Norman each year. The Davidson Community Players is a non-profit organization that seeks to provide members of the community opportunities to participate in and experience live theatre throughout the year, particularly in the summer.
