Davidson College

Davidson College was established in 1837 as a liberal arts college that has since shown to be the staple of the town of Davidson. The selective college provides opportunities to students from studying internationally to community philanthropy. It is ranked 15th among national liberal arts colleges and 6th in most innovative in the 2021 U.S. News & World Report Best College Rankings. Student enrollment is just under 2,000, meaning a more personal experience with students and faculty. Picturesque brick walkways weave through campus leading up to the historic buildings that still stand today.

Athletics are a large part of the Davidson College culture with well over half admitted students participating in Division 1 athletics as the Davidson Wildcats. There is also a large art presence at the college, offering state of the art facilities and venues. Local galleries often host exhibitions from students, while on and off site theaters showcase musical programs and performing art shows by the Davidson Community Players.

Take some time wandering around campus and see the offerings of numerous college events as well as local dining and shopping just a few steps away. Stop by Summit Outpost, a coffee shop, bar and full restaurant that was repurposed from an old Davidson College fraternity house. With the backbone of Summit's craft coffee bar, the Outpost offers an extensive menu around fresh and local ingredients. Also convenient to campus are the surrounding lake towns of Cornelius and Huntersville where local attractions are popular and leisure activities are encouraged.
