Visit Lake Norman is a non-profit organization 501(c)(6) dedicated to positively impacting our local and regional economies through tourism. We are committed to generating economic benefits for our towns of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville by bringing national and regional events to the area and by marketing our destination to the broadest base of potential visitors possible. Visit Lake Norman is the destination marketing leader of the Lake Norman region, representing all communities through the promotion and development of our resources for the maximum economic benefit of our towns, businesses, and residents.

Office Manager/Executive Assistant:  Oversees daily office functions and operations including administrative reporting, human resources, accounting/book keeping, Visitor Center staffing and operations, and website management. Responsible for all bookkeeping including payroll, taxes, accounts payable and receivable, filing, vendor contracts and negotiation, preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, petty cash, Visitor Center cash till and receipts, bank reconciliation and verification, payments, interest income and revenue, and annual audit preparation. Sports Sales Manager:  Oversees all operations, promotions, reports, activities, and event marketing and sales associated with sports tourism sales, group sales, group tours, and convention/event packages. Manages and coordinates all hotel lead sales accounts and activities. Oversees and coordinates bi-monthly hotel meetings. Maintains a well-informed, working knowledge of the area sports facilities, athletic associations/clubs, attractions, lodging, dining and services available in the area to visitors and acts as a liaison between these entities and client. Research and secure regional/national sporting events that generate the most economic impact and hotel room night impact. Compile/prepare bid presentations for prospective regional/national sporting events. Develop/follow effective sales tools/plans to maintain current accounts, pursue new sports tourism business through prospecting, networking events, and dissemination of information to visitors/inquires including in-person visits, telephone, and email inquiries through prompt and courteous responses. Develop/foster effective relationships with park and recreation departments and other public/private sport facility providers in order to secure sport tourism impacting events. Marketing & Communications Manager:  Acts as the Public Information Officer and manages all operations, promotions, and marketing, retail and package sales activities for the organization. Develop and make recommendations to Visit Lake Norman on marketing opportunities, merchandising, advertising, etc. Develop comprehensive marketing plan for the fiscal year. Graphic design collateral, print advertisements, and  other marketing promotional needs for the organization, Visitor Center and sponsored events. Markets region to tour groups, motorcoaches, small groups, and specialized visitor information needs. Assists in working consumer trade shows. Coordinate familiarization (FAM) trips, and create, promote, sell, and follow-through with group tour packages. Compiles visitor profiles from various sources to target marketing, tour packages, and merchandising.

Graphic Designer (Contracted Position):  Position produces visual solutions, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness. Needs imaginative flair, awareness of current fashions in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer packages and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design. Responsible for designing and producing art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as point-of-sale signage, digital signage, books, promotional materials, manuals, presentation materials, proposal materials, electronic media and packaging while ensuring organization identity is executed, including by external vendors. Must have experience meeting pre-press requirements and file preparation, ability to create and work within established templates for production literature, and work within given timeliness and deadlines. Marketing & Sales Coordinator: Coordinates and manages all operations, promotions, reports, activities, and volunteer personnel associated with the Visitor Center. Supervises and records the dissemination of information to visitors including in-person visits, telephone, and email inquiries through prompt and courteous responses. Compiles monthly reports and weekly visitor/sales logs. Ensures that the Visitor Center is well-maintained, stocks brochures and other informational materials, gathers information from other sources as well as providing these resources for other entities.  Develops specialized visitor information, creates needed handouts, assists with Lake Norman area marketing, and formats Visitor Center promotional needs. Organizes, compiles and disseminates the monthly Calendar of Events. Maintains retail inventory including ordering merchandise and compiling all summary reports. Graphic Design Intern: This is a paid internship position, must be a currently enrolled student.   Responsible for assisting with designing art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as point-of-sale signage, digital signage, books, promotional materials, manuals, presentation materials, proposal materials, electronic media and packaging.  Must demonstrate the ability to create and work within established templates for production literature, and work within given timeliness and deadlines.This opportunity is not available at this time.

Marketing Intern: This is an unpaid internship position, must be a currently enrolled student. Coordinates special events, group services, and community outreach functions for Visit Lake Norman initiatives; and provides event planning support and assistance to the Sports Marketing and Marketing Managers. Sports Marketing Intern:  This is an internship position with an opportunity for performance-based stipend. Must be a currently enrolled student.  Assist the Sports Marketing Manager with the operations, promotions, reports, activities, and event marketing and sales associated with group sales, sporting/athletic events, group tours, and convention/event packages. Assist with special events, group services, and community outreach functions for Visit Lake Norman initiatives.  Works independently, performs clerical duties and administrative tasks related to assignments. Ambassadors:  Ambassadors will learn more about the Lake Norman region while assisting visitors and callers in finding the resources or information they seek. Duties also include greeting guests, helping with front desk responsibilities, administrative tasks, and helping maintain inventory. This is a volunteer position.  In appreciation for such valuable service, volunteers are eligible to receive incentives which may include gift certificates to area restaurants and attractions, sponsored outings, snacks while on shift, and meeting great people from around the world. Ambassadors commit to a regular schedule and serve one shift (4 hours per shift) a week. Shifts may be based on availability and are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Volunteers must complete a screening process which includes an application, interview, and on-the-job trial period.  Click to view Ambassador Position Description.
