As the air is getting crisp we remember why we love autumn in Lake Norman! We’ve highlighted just a few of many exciting things you can fill your calendar with for the next few months!

1. Carolina Renaissance Festival

This annual medieval festival has something for everyone to enjoy. We recommend stopping by the jousting arena, catching a show at one of the stages, checking out the interactive circus, grabbing a unique trinket at the village market, and we can’t forget lunch with a famous turkey leg! From the first weekend in October through November 22nd, your Saturdays and Sundays will fill up with a unique adventure for the whole family!

2. The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill

Get lost in one of the largest corn maize’s in the Southeast! The Amazing Maize offers hayrides around the farm, pumpkin picking, corn hole games and much more! Opening weekend is October 3rd and operates weekends until the first of November. The maze is a great way to get the family together and start a tradition you’ll never forget.

3. The Craft Beer

Warm up and get familiar with the latest craft brews around town! Various tours are offered such as the “Brew Ha Ha” tour, which is the perfect Saturday outing! Lake Norman has not only craft breweries, but also various brew shops- pet friendly brew shops we might add! D9, Bayne Brewing Company, Bark and Brew, and Ass Clown are few of many stops on the beer trail map!

4. Ghost Walks in Davidson

We love a good ghost story and think you will too with these hauntingly historic tours of Davidson. Two hour nightly tours that begin at the Soda Shop and reservations are recommended, as these tours tend to fill up quick. You’ll stroll through Davidson and catch a glimpse of turn of the century buildings as well as listen to stories about General William Lee Davidson and the Corpse of Chambers Hall!

5. The Theater

Experience what the Davidson Community Players have in store for their fall productions at Armour Street Theatre! Grab your tickets, some popcorn and your BFF and relax as you enter a world of exceptional talent on stage on a chilly autumn evening.

6. The Farmers Markets

So many farmers markets, so little time! Pop by the Peninsula Club and grab local honey then ride over to Davidson and pick out that perfect pumpkin- and we can’t forget the kettle corn! Farmers markets are one of the many reasons we look forward to fall treats around Lake Norman.

These are just a few of the exciting things to take part in this fall. Check out the calendar on our website for more local events! http://www.visitlakenorman.org
