  • Summit Coffee roast approximately 1,000 pounds of coffee a week for their four cafes and wholesale accounts. All of the baristas are trained and tested at the Roastery lab before they become Summit Baristas. Summit Coffee Co. Roasting Tour includes: Crop to Cup Education Class. A Summit educator will walk your group through three distinct aspects of the coffee process: 1) At the Farm -- a look at where and how coffee is grown, how it is harvested, and the business behind the export and import of one of the most commonly traded commodities in the world. 2) At the Roastery - an overview on how Summit takes the raw, green coffee and turns it into a drinkable product. 3) At the Cupping Table - the last part of the class dives into how to taste coffee, the differences in roast styles and coffee varieties. This section includes a tasting of several different coffees roasted in house. Home Brewing. Learn how to brew cafe quality coffee at home. They'll teach different brewing methods and allow hands-on experience so that participants can brew a perfect cup of coffee in their own digs. *tours include a bag of Summit Coffee to take home *a variety of food offerings are available which may be added to group events: from breakfast, pastries and snacks to lunch and heavy hors d'oeuvres.
