They have this calm and cozy vibe where you can order your coffee and even do a little shopping in their gift shop. Beyond books, you'll find plenty of fun treats like confetti popcorn, vanilla bean marshmallows, and their hilarious chocolate-covered cookie dough, better known as "Elf Poop.
77 Grounds Coffee also has this warm, toasty atmosphere to it that'll make you want to grab your headphones, do some work or maybe even read a good book. If your looking for something sweet, you have to go to The Coffee Shop in Cornelius. They have yummy baked goods such as cinnamon rolls, cookies, muffins and scones that you can pair with your coffee. It's really the place to be when your not looking for a crazy crowd in the morning. Lake Norman Cottage
Who doesn’t love a private event on the lake with the people you love? Lake Norman Wine and Cottage has this cozy vintage vibe that makes you feel so relaxed, you won't want to leave. Book a private wine tasting event and have the chance to sample different options of wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Risata Moscato d’Asti and Blood Orange Mimosas and more, alongside a yummy charcuterie board while enjoying the views of our beautiful lake. Puckett Pottery House
Not much of a wine drinker? Say no more, because the brand new Puckett Pottery House offers easy classes to put your hands to work with clay. Step outside your comfort zone and into this fun and creative activity that you can experience with your friends and family or even just by yourself! Classes range from Wheel Throwing, Nature Inspired Ceramics, and you can even create your own Travel Coffee Cup.

Invite your friends and families to this mind bending, adrenaline pumping and team building adventure at Escape 109. They offer two rooms called “Lollipops and Lemon Drops” and “Derailed”. Each room is 60 minutes long, has its own unique set up, storyline with puzzles, hints and clues while accomodating up to 8 guests. Test your luck at this exciting and thrilling adventure. Catawba Riverkeeper
Book this hands-on excursion at Catawba Riverkeeper, where you and 30 passengers of your choice will get the chance to test the water quality of the lake, play a few boat games and even learn about the exciting history of Lake Norman. Monday through Friday they offer services such as a Floating Classroom experience, private charters and on Friday and Saturday they have Watershed Science Sunset Tours. Don't miss this awesome experience to sit back, relax, feel the wind in your hair and cruise out on the lake. They are open Monday through Friday and don’t forget to bring your snacks!

Spend Time In Nature
Need an escape from the world and maybe even people? Take a stroll along one of Lake Norman's scenic greenways or relax in one of our beautiful parks for the perfect reset. The Latta Nature Preserve has 16 miles of hiking trails, lake views and plenty of space to bring your family or friends, play a few games and have a picnic while spending quality time out in the open air. Bring your binoculars and look out for the wildlife while you're there. They even have a rehabilitation center called the Carolina Raptor Center for birds of prey where you can learn about raptors and even get the chance to see some of them up close. Here you will have the opportunity to take a breath from the busy world and relax. Robbins Park
Looking for a some friendly competition? Head over to Robbins Park . With a 9-hole disc golf course, a gaga pit, a sand volleyball court, 2 tennis and 4 pickleball courts, and a nature-themed playground, there's plenty of options for you at Robbins Park. Invite your friends and family and bring some snacks to have the best day out in the sun.
If you're into fishing, they also have two fishing ponds with piers waiting just for you. The northern pond, joined to a 600' long boardwalk, is stocked with Channel Catfish and the southern pond, surrounded by a peaceful grove, is filled with Bluegill, Redear Sunfish and Largemouth Bass.
Mountain Island Paddle Co.
Looking to beat the heat out on the water? Mountain Island Lake Paddle Co has you covered with paddleboard and kayak rentals. On this self-guided adventure, you can slip out into the wilderness, to float on the calm and steady waters of Mountain Island Lake. They have a 2 hour, 4 hour and 8 hour sessions for kayaks, and paddle boards for singles and groups of all ages. Don't worry about having to tote around the equipment, they meet you right at Neck Road Boat Ramp in Huntersville. All you have to do is show up with your towel and sunscreen to have the best crowd free day.
