The clock is ticking on summer, and as the leaves fall and the humidity drops, here's something you'll want to add to your fall bucket list: Get lost in Huntersville’s giant 5-acre corn maze featuring over two miles of interconnecting paths. The Rural Hill Corn Maze is one of the largest in the Southeast and has been a family tradition since 1998, making it a must-try activity this fall.

Amazing Maize Maze

Starting September 6th and running through October 31st, the maze will be open on weekends from 10am-5pm (must enter by 3:30pm). Finding your way out is no small task; it’s the perfect chance to put your problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test. And for those who want to take it up a notch, the popular night maze returns in October at 5pm (must enter by 8:30pm), adding a whole new level of challenge once the sun goes down.

When you make your way to Rural Hill, the size of the maze alone is impressive, especially if it’s your first time. It’s designed for all ages, but with 5 acres of twists and turns, you’ll want to come prepared: comfortable shoes, water, sunscreen, hats, and anything else you’ll need to stay comfortable along the way. Strollers and wagons are welcome, making it easy for families with little ones to join in on the adventure.

Some sections of the maze may give you a peek over the corn, but don’t get too confident; this course is designed to challenge even seasoned maze-goers! If you do feel lost, no worries. Friendly volunteers wearing name tags are stationed throughout to help guide you, and every guest is required to carry a staff-issued flag to signal for assistance in case of an emergency.

The Rural Hill Corn Maze is more than just a maze; it’s a full day of fall fun. Enjoy a tractor-pulled hayride, bounce houses for the kids, and the chance to pick the perfect pumpkin straight from the patch. Local food trucks and brewery vendors will be on-site as well to keep you fueled and refreshed throughout the festivities.

This year's theme is a nod to Rural Hill's Scottish roots! While you are enjoying all that the Rural Hill Corn Maze has to offer, be sure to meet a highland cow!

If you'd like, feel free to bring a picnic lunch or dinner to enjoy before or after the maze! They encourage you to enjoy the picnic tables set out for you and make a date night or family day out of it. The maze is a rain or shine event and will only close for severe weather. Make sure to check their social media to get the most up-to-date hours and closure notifications.
