Founded in 1837 alongside Davidson College, the town offers a glimpse into the past through its well-preserved historic buildings. Strolling through the Davidson College campus, visitors can admire structures like Eumenean and Philanthropic Halls. Constructed in 1849 and 1850, they are named after the college's first two student societies and still serve as meeting places today. The town's historic district encompasses 394 contributing buildings showcasing Italianate, Greek Revival, and Gothic Revival architectural styles. Beyond its architectural heritage, Davidson holds over 175 years of memories from families, students, and visitors who have experienced its enduring charm.
