"Dance of Life" by Sculptor Douwe Blumberg is one of the latest pieces of art in the Town of Davidson collection. Standing almost fifteen feet tall, this abstract figure releases a flock of birds into the sky. Douwe wanted to create a piece that captured the joy of living. Located behind Summit Coffee and Ben & Jerry's, it was dedicated on April 17, 2015 in a beautiful space adjacent to Davidson Town Hall created by Landscape Architect J'Nell Bryson. It is given in honor of Patricia Knox, through a generous contribution by her brother, J. Stanley Tucker. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council and the Town of Davidson provided additional funding.
