Main Street Books has lived in the old general store on Main Street in Davidson, NC since 1987 when Barbara Freund & Betty Reinke established the area's most esteemed independent bookstore. After 27 years of expertly putting books in the hands of bibliophiles all around town, Betty & Barbara retired in 2015. Adah Fitzgerald now carries the torch as proprietor of Main Street Books,. In early 2016, the bookstore got a facelift - Adah repaired & painted the antique bookcases, polished the original wood floors, refreshed the layout, and created a comfortable sitting area for quiet reading and events.
