Spring is upon us and Lake Norman has all of the festivities and events you need to embrace the season. From Easter, Earth Day, and annual LKN events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Here is a list of all the events coming up that you don't want to miss!
Davidson Easter Egg Scramble
March 23 | The Davidson Village Green
An Easter egg hunt is the perfect way to celebrate and spend a fun day with the family. The Merry Magic Project and Homewood Suites are presenting an egg hunt at 9:30am for ages up to 4 and at 10am for ages 5-9. This free event includes pictures with the Easter Bunny, vendors, and the chance to win prizes.
Hop Into Spring
March 23 | James Hoyt Wilhelm Park
This annual family-friendly event is the perfect way to get your little ones excited for Spring. With egg-themed activities and an Easter bunny to get your picture made with, it is sure to include all your yearly Easter traditions for your child. The event is from 2-4pm and is free for most events, but a fee for non-residents for the egg scramble. With limited spots be sure to pre-register for this event through Cornelius Parks and Recreation.
Donuts with Duck and Bunny
March 23 | Veterans Park
Hop on over to Veterans Park in Downtown Huntersville for “Donuts with the Duck and Bunny” on Saturday, March 23rd! Enjoy delicious donuts by “Your Mom’s Donuts” and craft while you wait for your Bunny & Duck photo. Be sure to preregister with Huntersville Parks and Red so you and the kids don't miss out on this great experience!
Davidson Farmers Market Prime Season
April 6 | Downtown Davidson
We are nearing the beginning of the Prime Season at the Davidson Farmers Market. This new season will include workshops, lots of new musicians, and even more new vendors! The opening weekend will feature music by Maggie, a cooking demo by Dee Iraca, visiting food trucks, and a Tattoo Parlor. Be sure to check out their event calendar to stay up to date to all the special events and artists they will host throughout the season!
Earth Jam
April 13 | Robbins Park
To celebrate Earth Day, the town of Cornelius is presenting Earth Jam 2024 from 4-7pm. This free event is a great way to come together as a community to celebrate Earth Day, eat delicious food, listen to live music, enjoy drinks from local breweries, and most importantly, learn how we can create change in our community to be a little kinder to our planet. Over 25 local organizations will be on hand to provide interactive demonstrations on sustainability, conservation, and living an eco-friendly life.
Earth Day Festival
April 27 | Downtown Davidson
The Earth Day Festival will be held at 25 Lorimer Rd (adjacent to the Town Green) from 10am-1pm. Activities include hands on science, food, games, music, free native seedlings, education, and more! You can also earn a prize by sharing a personal action you are proud of, stop by the Town of Davidson booth for details.
Loch Norman Highland Games
April 20-21 | Rural Hill
Come and experience all the fun with Highland dancing, bagpipe bands, Highland athletics, traditional performers, NC beer and wine and much more. Shoot longbows and blowguns, throw a battle axe, and try some haggis! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the event and promises to be an especially memorable one. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the events and competitions, and there are activities for all ages, including a giant kid’s zone. Tickets are available for purchase online.
Birkdale Village Events
Newly renovated, Birkdale Village's activities are beginning to start up again for 2024. Here is a list of all the great events they are offering this year:

Gallery Crawl
April 26 | 6-9pm
Main Street and South Main Street businesses and sidewalks will be transformed into lively art galleries. Homewood Suites at the Circles @ 30 will also showcase many artists.
Art on the Green
April 27 | 10am-5pm and April 28 | 12-4pm
Davidson’s largest annual arts festival spotlights many of the region’s finest artists all weekend. Over 50 artists from the Lake Norman region, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Maine will be showcasing and selling their creations in all types of media: sculpture, watercolor, photography, wood, glass, ceramics, etc. Stroll around the green to enjoy amazing art, listen to live music, and enjoy local cuisine.
Concerts on the Green
April 28 | 6- 8pm
The Concerts on the Green series will be returning and the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble will kick off the concert season with a lively performance on the library stage for all to enjoy. Please bring your own picnic to enjoy on the town green or purchase food from the local restaurants.
Huntersville Growers Market
Every Saturday, April 13-Aug. 31 | Veterans Park
Shop fresh and locally-grown food products with the family from 8am-12pm. Join the market on Opening Day and listen to the soft tunes of the Tim Cook Band while enjoying the READY, SET, SHOW Spring Car and Truck Show.
