Spring is upon us and Lake Norman has all of the festivities and events you need to embrace the season. From Easter, Earth Day, and annual LKN events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Here is a list of all the events coming up that you don't want to miss!


 


Easter Egg Hunt

A Merry Egg Hunt

March 25th

An easter egg hunt is the perfect way to celebrate and spend a fun day with the family. The Merry Magic Project and Homewood Suites is presenting an egg hunt on March 25th from 1-4 PM. The experience includes pictures with the Easter Bunny, vendors, food trucks, and the chance to win prizes. The egg hunt will be divided by age and begins at 2 p.m. 


 

Hop Into Spring 2023

April 1st 

This annual family-friendly event is the perfect way to get your little ones excited for Spring. With egg-themed activities and an Easter bunny to get your picture made with, it is sure to include all your yearly Easter traditions for your child. The event is in Robbins Park from 2pm to 4pm and it is free for everyone.

Bunny and Duck Park Hops

April 3rd-6th

Find them at the following parks on these dates & times for a spring craft and photo:

Brunch with a Bunny and Duck

April 1st

Huntersville Parks and Rec is hosting this event from 10am to 12pm where you can reserve a table in Veterans Park and enjoy a fantastic brunch as you await your pictures with the Bunny and the Duck. Reservations are required and they reserve the table for you for 45 minutes for $20 per table (a table seats a maximum of 6 people). Reservations will include two pancakes, two pieces of bacon, a drink, and a family craft. Spaces are limited so sign up now!


 

Davidson Farmers Market Prime Season

April 1st

We are nearing the beginning of the Prime Season at the Davidson Farmers Market. This new season will include workshops, lots of new musicians and even more new vendors! The opening weekend will feature music by Jared Evans, a cooking demo by Ferra, a nutritional therapy practitioner, STEAMfest workshop, Mecklenburg Master Gardeners, Rico's Acai Food Truck, and Farm to Belly Food Truck.

Earth Jam

Earth Jam

April 15th

To celebrate Earth Day, the town of Cornelius is presenting Earth Jam 2023 from 4-7 p.m. in Robbins Park. This event works to bring the community together to learn how we can create change in our community and protect our planet. Earth Jam is a free event and will feature live music, fresh food, drinks, activities, interactive demos, and sustainable family fun. There will be live musical performances from Justin Mintun and James Tucker, concessions from Rico's Acai and Zizi's Vegan Food Truck, and beer and wine provided by D9 Brewing and Eleven Lakes Brewing. Over 25 local organizations will be on hand to provide interactive demonstrations on sustainability, conservation, and living an eco-friendly life.


 

Earth Day Festival

April 22nd

The Earth Day Festival will be held on the Davidson Town Green from 10am-1pm. Activities include hands on science, food, games, music, free native seedlings, education, and more! You can also earn a prize by sharing a personal action you are proud of, stop by the Town of Davidson booth for details. There is also a great lineup of exhibitors like A Small Change, Better Tomorrow Solar & solar ping pong fun, Coaching with Karen, and Davidson Lands Conservancy.

Loch Norman Highland Games & Scottish Festival

April 15th-16th

The Loch Norman Highland Games at Rural Hill is a family friendly event presented by Historic Rural Hill. Come and experience all the fun with Highland dancing, bagpipe bands, Highland athletics, a giant kid’s zone, Scottish merchants, haggis, Celtic Rock and traditional performers, historic reenactments, Scottish country dancing, Sunday church service, hearth cooking, NC beer and wine, whiskey tastings, kilted running events, Scottish clan societies, shoot long bows and blowguns, and throw a battle axe!

April is for Arts is a celebration of art and culture throughout the month of April. There are three events featured this year: 

Gallery Crawl

April 28, 6-9pm

Main Street and South Main Street businesses and sidewalks will be transformed into lively art galleries. Homewood Suites at the Circles @ 30 will also showcase many artists.

Art on the Green

April 29, 10:00am-5:00pm and April 30, 12-4:00pm

Davidson’s largest annual arts festival spotlights many of the region’s finest artists in a weekend-long celebration. Over 50 artists from the Lake Norman region, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, and Maine will be showcasing and selling their creations in all types of media: sculpture, watercolor, photography, wood, glass, ceramics, etc. Patrons can stroll around the green to enjoy amazing art from a wide variety of talented regional artists, listen to live music, and enjoy local cuisine.

Concerts on the Green

April 30, 6pm 

The Concerts on the Green series will be returning and the Davidson College Jazz Ensemble will kick off the concert season with a lively performance on the library stage for all to enjoy. Please bring your own picnic to enjoy on the town green or purchase food from the local restaurants that will be open that evening.


 

Growers Market 

The Huntersville Growers’ Market was established in 1999 to provide locally-grown food products, to sustain farmers in Huntersville and surrounding areas, and to strengthen a sense of community.

Ascension

Ascension Sculpture

In between enjoying all of these spring events make sure to check out a new art piece addition in Huntersville. The sculpture is called "Ascension" and was created by artist David Landis from Atlanta, GA.
