The start of the new year not only brings new years resolutions, but also new restaurants and venues! One of the great things about Lake Norman is that it is always growing and there are always new things to try. Luckily for you, we want to help you experience it all. From new restaurants, to coffee shops, to art venues, we have found some of the most exciting new openings in the Lake Norman area for you to experience.

Milkbread

 One of the most anticipated restaurants of the new year finally opened January 21st and will be just down the street from their owners, Joe and Katy Kindreds, other restaurant in Davidson. Milkbread will be an all-day café serving milk bread doughnuts, crispy chicken, vegetable bowls and coffee. They will also be teaming up with Summit Coffee and Hex Coffee to provide some of the best coffee to their patrons.


Alton's Rebranding

Alton's Kitchen and Cocktails in Cornelius is changing their name and will soon go under a $300,000 renovation to change to Peninsula Prime Seafood and Steakhouse. The new management is striving for a community centered environment and they will focus heavily on their entertainment and live music. As for food, they plan to have large steaks and lobsters and are expected to have delicious oyster dishes.

Firebirds Steakhouse opened in Birkdale Village back in November and added to its now 54 restaurants in 19 different states. The Charlotte based restaurant has been well received and continues to uphold its reputation of being a favorite for many. Some of their signature menu items include Wood-fired Salmon, Ribeye, Grilled Shrimp & Strawberry Salad, and much more.


Cain Center

The Cain Center broke ground last year on their new $25 million plan for a Performing and Visual Arts Venue. The center will have a 400-seat theatre for live entertainment, a gallery, classrooms, community green space, and an outdoor plaza. The goal of the venue is to not only entertain but to also allow children and adults to learn, experience, and create. The center is set to be complete in January 2023.

Bean Market

 

The Bean Market

This cute coffee shop in Cornelius has now opened inside of the Barley Market bottle shop & tasting room. They serve creative and delicious local coffee and can tailor any drink to your preferences. This place is perfect for stopping in and getting fueled for your day or getting some work done with their spacious area and bottom-less coffee.


Birkdale Village

The time has finally come for Birkdale Village in Huntersville to show off their redevelopment and new retail mix with the addition of their four new stores. Their objective is to enhance Birkdale Village by making it a one-stop shopping center allowing patrons to fill all their needs in one location. The four new stores coming include Apricot Lane, Brown Bag Seafood Co., Girl Supply, and Lovesac. All of which are scheduled to be opened in early 2022.
