Chef David Burke officially takes over operations at Port City Club. The menu has already incorporated some of Burke’s touches, including Lobster Dumplings with tomato miso sauce and basil oil; and black pepper maple glazed Clothesline Bacon.
The changes will extend beyond the menu and include an interior design refresh, the addition of a dockside “Grab ‘N Go” area for expedited quick snacks, and the outdoor patio’s renovation.

A Lake Norman dining favorite formerly known as "Davidson Ice House" is undergoing a transformation into a new concept called Hot Mess. Serving up delicious burgers, fresh healthy bowls, and lobster rolls with all your favorite vegan, vegetarian, & gluten-free options! They are currently closed with plans to reopen soon. Davidson Social Districts
The Town of Davidson created two social districts, a place where people can walk between businesses with alcoholic drinks. One on Main Street and the other at the Circles along Jetton St. The Town Board voted unanimously on May 9 to approve an ordinance allowing for these social districts, which will create more tourism opportunities and help increase foot traffic for small businesses.

The Town of Davidson also recently invited the community to the new Fisher Farm Archery Range for a grand opening on Sunday, May 21. The Fisher Farm Archery Range has been a longtime vision and dream of Davidson resident Sterling Martin who has taught numerous archery programs in the past. This will be one of the only publicly available archery ranges in the Mecklenburg Park system and a unique amenity for Davidson’s Fisher Farm Park.

New to the Lake
The Snack Barge
Grand opening this Memorial weekend, the Snack Barge is a full service food and entertainment vessel, serving up hot, fresh, and delicious made to order meals on and around Lake Norman. Carter and Matt are the owners and innovators of this new dockside food truck servicing boaters on the water and off. Mainly operating at the sandbar, dog island, and cocktail cove on Lake Norman, they will also make their debut on land at local breweries so keep a look out for any announcements! Food is part of the Barge, but they will host events and games with music for parties and special events both day and night.
