In Lake Norman, we have an amazing and very large lake that is known nationwide as the largest manmade lake in the state. It's nothing short of a great lake and a great area with a lot of amazing and fun things to do including several hidden treasures. Some of our best treasures are the great greenways we have in the area. Whether it's running, walking, jogging, biking, or anything else you can do out on a trail, there is something special about just enjoying the beautiful scenery of this gorgeous area, and beauty is for sure something this area does not lack!

Emerald Necklace

The Emerald Necklace is an over 13-mile loop that circles Cornelius with connections to surrounding towns like Huntersville and Davidson. The Emerald Necklace is made up of a combination of greenways throughout Cornelius including the Antiquity Greenway, the Caldwell Station Creek Greenway, and the South Prong Rocky River Greenway. Right off the Antiquity Greenway is Pedego E-Bikes which offers bike rentals for any biking skill level. With the Emerald Necklace acting as a loop around Cornelius, there are several businesses to stop by to check out as well as use as restrooms or some needed cool air in the summertime. The Emerald Necklace has plans of being a complete loop around Cornelius displaying beautiful scenic views in the process. While some of the constructions of the paths have been completed there are still future plans for shared-use paths along Catawba Avenue and Sam Furr Road to ensure the full experience.
